Tanya and Brad got married at the Kiana Lodge, in Poulsbo. Everybody had been watching the weather closely all week, alternating between worry and relief, and then back again. This morning was more of the same, with heavily clouded skies that sometimes sprinkled, and sometimes gave tiny peeks at sunlight. Up until the very last moment, there were talks about whether to move the ceremony indoors, but Tanya stuck to her plan – her dream wedding outside. The setting at Kiana is out of this world: it is a beautiful lodge surrounded on one side by forest, by sweeping views of the bay on another side, and absolutely overflowing with flowers. The ceremony was perfect, and so was the timing. As soon as Tanya and Brad said “I do” and began their walk back up the aisle as man and wife, a huge clap of thunder rang out, and the rain began to fall!
Guests enjoyed a lovely lunch beneath the Lodge’s skylights. The afternoon included a shocking toast from Brad’s dad… He said he thought it was interesting that the couple had chosen a naval submarine base for their honeymoon. At the confused looks, he assured us that Brad had told him he was “going to Bangor for a week!” Tanya hid behind her napkin while the room exploded in laughter.
For their REAL honeymoon, Tanya and Brad will be traveling along the Oregon Coast. Congratulations you two!!
