Just a couple of days after their gorgeous vintage-inspired engagement session, we got to see Brittany and Jack again – this time, for their intimate afternoon wedding. The ceremony took place at the Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church, during which the pastor offered a new take on the often-used passage in Corinthians. He asked the couple to replace the word “love” in each instance with the word “I” (I am patient, I am kind…). Afterwards, he asked them to think about how they were doing so far in their relationship with each other. The chapel was filled with laughter at Jack’s response, that he was being careful not to “peak too early”…
The reception was nearby, at the Austin Country Club. We loved all of the bright yellow touches, and just couldn’t decide which cake was cuter! Their traditional wedding cake was sprinkled with little yellow flowers and was topped with a very sweet likeness of the bride and groom. The groom’s cake was in the shape of a gun, with an edgier version of Brittany and Jack on top. This nice-but-tough perception of the couple was played out again and again. During the toasts, we heard about fond memories of one staying up all night to bake cookies and write encouraging notes for someone who might be feeling down, and another teaching friends and family members how to shoot uzis. We think it’s a pretty great combination, and are so happy for this adorable couple. Congrats, Brittany and Jack!
